True Blood Season Two

Posted on 10 June 2009 by marylou

True Blood is based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels written by Charlaine Harris. The series takes place in a world were the invention of synthetic blood has allowed vampires to live among humans without poising a threat (not all vampires like the taste of synthetic blood and some still hunt humans). Most people are still apprehensive of the vampires and their presence sparks religious and political debates.

Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) is a waitress in the small town of Bon Temps Louisiana. Sookie can read people’s thoughts which has left her feeling like an outsider and makes her more open minded to the integration of vampires.

When 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) moves into her small town she is welcomes him, despite her friends objections. As Sookie and Bill develop a relationship (Sookie can not read his mind which makes her extremely attracted to him) she finds herself in mysterious and dangerous situations.

If you haven’t checked out season one yet you should. It is a great show that gets you hooked the minute the credits begin. Season two premiers Sunday June 14th at 9:00 PM.

They have two children; adopted son Ubuntu, (he was adopted from Africa, only later did they realize he is from South African and white) and a Daughter Bliss who is mortified by her parents. The family dog Che is rebelling against his vegan diet (squirrels, cats, rabbits, and birds are disappearing all over the neighborhood).
The Goode Family Premiers at 9/8 central tonight (May 27th) on ABC.
