Janet Jackson made an appearance at the BET Awards on Sunday. The award show honored her brother Michael with many performers signing some of Michael’’s greatest hits.
“My entire family wanted to be here tonight, but it was just too painful so they elected me to speak with all of you. I would just like to say that to you, Michael is an icon, to us Michael is family, and he will forever live in all of our hearts. On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all your love; thank you for all your support. We miss him so much.”
Michael Jackson died Thursday afternoon according to multiple sources, including the Los Angeles Times and The Associated Press.
Michael Jackson was rushed to the hospital by ambulance suffering from cardiac arrest. Jackson was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his home. They performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center where he later passed away.
Farrah Fawcett, 62, died at John’s Medical Center in Santa Monica at 9:28 a.m. Thursday morning with Ryan O’Neal by her side.

Farrah Fawcett had been fighting anal cancer for three years. The cancer eventually spread to her liver.
