I love the Ame-Comi series and have collected all the statues. Batgirl & Catwoman were the first two statues to be released. I loved them both especially the Batgirl statue. My only initial complaint was that they could not stand on their own, the plastic was just too flimsy, and we ended up screwing their feet down which worked, for a while. After a few months of being displayed, the plastic in their legs began bending, it eventually got so bad that I had to pack them up and put them in storage.
I was thrilled when I heard about the second versions. The quality (along with the price) of the statues have increased, they are a lot stronger now, and I haven’t had any more problems with the plastic bending (after Power Girl this wasn’t really a problem anymore).
The new Catwoman Statue is beautiful and pretty much looks like the prototype. The only real difference is her color. The prototype looks more pale, like the rest of the series. The actual statue is tanner. When I first saw her I wasn’t happy about the difference, but she looked amazing once we took her out of the box.
Unfortunately they didn’t do as good of a job with Batgirl. Don’t get me wrong she looks great and I don’t regret purchasing her. They just messed up a few details. Her cape and hands are too high and the bats shown in the prototype just don’t work. The other complaint I have is that while she does look cool, the only way you can enjoy her is if she is at eye level…which really limits where I can display her.
