Marylou just showed me the animated short for The Pro and I gotta say it was pretty good. It’s exactly like the graphic novel, so if you enjoyed reading the story, then you will definitely enjoy seeing the characters come to life in 2D. The individuals picked to voice the characters were well chosen as it really brought the story to life, which of course is tailored for an adult audience. If you don’t know anything about the graphic novel The Pro, it is a satirical look at the superhero genre, and is created/written by Garth Ennis and Jimmy Palmiotti, with art by Amanda Conner, and inks by Paul Mounts & Jimmy Palmiotti.
We had the fortunate chance of meeting Jimmy Palmiotti & Amanda Conner over at Tate’s Comics, with Marylou doing a brief interview, where they discussed some of the projects they were working on at the time (and has since come out) and they still continue to put out a lot of work. Jimmy’s latest graphic novel, Random Acts of Violence which is a take on the ‘Slasher’ genre came out this past spring, and Time Bomb which is a Sci-Fi/Action Thriller, should be out in the fall. Amanda wrote & illustrated a story in Wonder Woman #600, so be sure to check that out if you haven’t already.
