He also put a few rumors to rest…

The Riddler will not be the villain featured in the film, neither will the Joker or Mr.Freeze, so now the Hugo Strange speculation is higher than ever.

In the interview Christopher Nolan also talks about getting Warner Brothers to allow him to film in High Definition rather than in 3D…a decision I am personally thrilled with (I am so over 3D)!

The Dark Knight Rises will be in theaters in July 2012.

The story is based on Jeph Loeb and Michael Turner’s The Supergirl From Krypton. Now that the movie has been confirmed there is a lot of speculation whether or not the film will utilize the late Michael Turner’s artistic style, I am sure we will get an answer with the release of next month’s Under The Red Hood.

Kevin Conroy and Tim Daly will both be back as Batman & Superman, joining them will be Andre Braugher as Darkseid, Summer Glau as Supergirl, and Ed Asner as Granny Goodness.

The Blu-Ray and Special Edition DVDs will also feature a Green Arrow Short.

WARNER BROS. ANIMATION ANSWERS THE CALL WITH A NEW

TAKE ON THE CLASSIC ANIMATED SERIES “THUNDERCATS,”

TO AIR ON CARTOON NETWORK

(June 3, 2010 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Animation (WBA) has begun production on “ThunderCats,” an all-new animated series for Cartoon Network, based upon the iconic 1980s action classic. “ThunderCats” is the newest series from WBA, joining “Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” which was recently renewed for a third season, and the following forthcoming programs: “The Looney Tunes Show,” “MAD,” “Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated” and “Young Justice.” The announcement was made today by Sam Register, Executive Vice President, Creative Affairs, Warner Bros. Animation.

“In addition to being Warner Bros. Animation’s first anime series, ‘ThunderCats’ marks our most ambitious foray yet into fantasy,” said Register. “The realism and dynamic visual style we’ve achieved are sure to thrill viewers, and the cool weapons, vehicles and technology should help the show appeal to a diverse audience.”

The 21st century reimagining of the series marks a creative collaboration between WBA and Studio4°C, one of the most vibrant animation studios in Japan, with credits including “The Animatrix,” “Gotham Knights” and “Halo Legends.” WBA is working closely with Studio4°C, utilizing the latter’s expertise to give the “ThunderCats” characters a new cutting-edge look while remaining true to the compelling storylines and mythology of the original series.

“We at Studio4°C are excited to be in this creative partnership with Warner Bros. Animation to bring ‘ThunderCats’ to life,” said Eiko Tanaka, President and CEO, Studio4°C. “This collaboration combines the strengths of our two companies – high production values and great storytelling – toward reintroducing this classic fan-favorite to a new audience.”

Roaring to life through WBA and Studio4°C’s use of the Japanese animated artistry of anime, “ThunderCats” characters Lion-O, Mumm-Ra, Panthro, Cheetara and others will spring off the screen with realistic cat-like characteristics inconceivable in previous incarnations.

The new “ThunderCats” will appeal to viewers who have loved the characters all their lives as well as young newcomers to the franchise. A sweeping tale combining swords and science and boasting ferocious battles with the highest of stakes, the grand origin story of Prince Lion-O’s ascension to the throne – and of those who would thwart his destiny at any cost – takes on epic dimensions in this sharp new telling. As the forces of good and evil battle each other in the quest for the fabled Stones of Power, Lion-O and his champions learn valuable lessons of loyalty, honor and mortality in every episode.

“ThunderCats” is executive produced by Sam Register (“Teen Titans,” “Ben 10,” “Batman: The Brave and the Bold”). Michael Jelenic (“Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” “Wonder Woman”) and Ethan Spaulding (“Avatar: The Last Airbender”) are the producers.

There is a lot of speculation about the film, and what characters it will feature, but the only things that are certain are: the release date, the fact that Christian Bale will return as Bruce Wayne, David Goyer and Jonah Nolan writing the script, and Christoper Nolan is directing.

Although after the announcement that Warner Brothers and IMAX have entered into an deal to bring 20 Warner Brother’s films to the giant screen through 2013, I think it is safe to assume that Batman will be among the twenty.

In a parallel universe the Crime Syndicate is running rampant, and Earth’s people are in constant fear of Ultraman, Owlman, Superwoman, and their many minions. In a desperate attempt to save his world, Lex Luthor, the leader (and the last remaining member) of the Justice League travels across dimensions to enlist the help of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, and Martian Manhunter.

I absolutely LOVED this movie. Dwayne McDuffie did an amazing job with the script. You don’t need to know anything about the Multiverse or the Crime Syndicate to enjoy the movie. It is full of action and comedy. Barry and Hal played off each other perfectly. Wonder Woman and her invisible plane are given a new, humorous explanation. There isn’t a second when you are not either laughing or sitting on the edge of your seat.

The voice cast was pretty good. Mark Harmon as Superman and James Woods as Owlman were great choices. My only complaint was William Baldwin as Batman; something about it just didn’t work for me (part of that is probably the fact that I think Kevin Conroy is Batman). As always the animation was spectacular. You know you are watching a film…not a Saturday morning cartoon.

The ten minute short: DC Showcase The Spectre was an added bonus. The story is set in the seventies. The animation, voice acting, and music worked together perfectly. The animation was smooth, and Steve Niles’ story was a perfect introduction to people who are not familiar with the character, and entertaining to those who are.

What else can I say? DC did another amazing job and has me anxiously waiting for the summer premiere of Under The Red Hood!

According to the site Warner Brothers must start production on a Superman film by 2011 or forfeit profit to Jerry Siegel’s heirs, and that while the heirs currently own half of the rights to Superman, all copyrights will revert to them in 2013.

Yesterday rumors of a Young Justice League animated series seemed to be confirmed, when a blog post from Stephanie Nicole Lemelin emerged stating she was cast as the voice of Arrowette in the series.

In the post Stephanie talks about how excited she is to join the cast and that she could not comment any further due to the popularity of the series. Apparently she had already said too much and the post has since been removed from her site.

There is a list floating around the internet of characters that assumed to appear in the show including: Martian Girl, Aqualad, Impulse, Arrowette, Conner Kent, and Nightwing.

For now I guess we all just have to sit back and wait for Warner Brothers to confirm the series (and of course appreciate the Arrowette image that Stephanie leaked on her blog).
