Marvel has released the first poster and trailer from the upcoming Thor movie. I have to admit it doesn’t look quite as cheesy as I expected (whenever I think of Thor I picture Valhallen from Dexter’s Lab). The scenes on Asgard look pretty good…

Who’s Superbad? Natalie Portman that’s who! LA Times recently reported that Ms. Portman has completed the script to her co-written movie titled “BYO” (Bring Your Own), which according to two executives that have read the script, is Superbad but for girls. Who knew that inside Natalie’s petite frame, laid the soul of a horny teenage boy?

Natalie has shied away from roles in the past that were sexual in nature, but with her upcoming role opposite Mila Kunis in Black Swan and her ass bearing silver thong in Your Highness, that has forever changed.

If you’re a fan of the movie Pineapple Express or a fan of Danny McBride, then you may enjoy the comedic romp Your Highness, which is about two brothers going on a quest to save one of their brides, which is aptly set during the “middle ages”. After watching the trailer, I don’t know whether to say this movie is amazing, or terribly amazing? And no, I’m not referring to Ms. Portman fulfilling fanboy’s dreams by appearing in a thong (you probably wished for a red or black thong, but hey, this was the medieval times).

The trailer starts off on a good foot with some humor, but as soon as the wizard uses a modern day expletive, it throws you for a slight loop and lets you know right off the bat, that the bad English accents are mixed in with modern day speech. The humor is evidently targeted to make all the guys laugh, so I don’t know if the women will bother watching this movie, but James Franco staring as (Fabious) should keep the girls in their seats. Co-writer and executive producer, Danny plays Thadeous, Zooey Deschanel plays bride to be, Belladonna, and thong wearing Natalie Portman is Isabel.

The medieval fantasy genre which usually has little appeal to the guys (no cool gadgets in the film) Your Highness may be the most amazing non-boring medieval fantasy film that a guy will ever see!

First Look At Odin & Loki

Marvel released the first image showing Thor with Odin and Loki. I am not really a Thor fan, and I would be lying if I said I was anxiously awaiting the release of this film, so I really don’t have an opinion of the picture, but I am sure there are some Thor fans out there, that do.

Marvel is promising that there will be more news about the film announced at San Diego Comic Con next week.

Thor will be in theaters on May 6, 2011.

I know a ton of people are skeptical of the choice for Thor, but I think this still looks promising…what do you think?

Joss Whedon Directing Avengers?

Variety is reporting that Joss Whedon and Marvel Studios are close to wrapping up a deal that would bring him on board to direct the much anticipated Avengers Film. They are also reporting that Whedon will rewrite Zak Penn’s script.

Joss Whedon has created and directed Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Dollhouse, and Angel, Serenity is his only feature film directing credit.

The film is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2012. It will star Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. It is still unclear weather or not Edward Norton will reprise his role as the Hulk.

Joseph Gatt has confirmed that he has been cast as a villain in the upcoming Thor movie. According to MTV David Mattey has also joined the cast, although his role has not been announced.

On Free Comic Book Day Matt Fraction and artist John Romita Jr. team up to bring you the post-Siege teaming of Thor and Iron Man.

“It’s a little bit of Thor’s backyard and a little bit of Iron Man’s backyard. It’s a chance for the two of them to work together to deal with this threat. We get to see how they bounce off each other.” -Matt Fraction.

After the Free Comic Book Day issue Matt Fraction will be taking over writing on Thor’s monthly series he will also continue to write Invincible Iron Man.
