The Three Musketeers was shot in 3D. It stars Logan Lerman, Matthew Macfadyen, Ray Stevenson, Milla Jovovich, Orlando Bloom, Christoph Waltz, and James Corden. It will be in theaters on October 14, 2011.

I don’t know if I really want to see another Three Musketeers movie, but I will say the trailer looks pretty good.

Lionel Wigram (who worked on Guy Ritchie’s remake of Sherlock Homes) is producing the film and has hired  Peter Straughan to update the story to appeal to a more contemporary audience.

…and expect this news to result in a Three Musketeers trilogy. Alexandre Dumas told the story in three novels: The Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After, The Vicomte de Bragalonne.
