Sideshow Collectibles and Marvel have teamed up to release a 400% Be@rbrick. The figure stands 11 inches tall, and costs $74.99. It is available now through Sideshow Collectibles, but the quantities are very limited.

Joss Whedon will direct the film that will be in theaters in 2012.

Joss Whedon Directing Avengers?

Variety is reporting that Joss Whedon and Marvel Studios are close to wrapping up a deal that would bring him on board to direct the much anticipated Avengers Film. They are also reporting that Whedon will rewrite Zak Penn’s script.

Joss Whedon has created and directed Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Dollhouse, and Angel, Serenity is his only feature film directing credit.

The film is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2012. It will star Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. It is still unclear weather or not Edward Norton will reprise his role as the Hulk.

Marvel had announced that Brain Michael Bendis and John Romita Jr will be teaming up for a new Avengers series that will debut in May. They have released a couple of teaser posters (which you can see below).

Fraction Brings You Thor & Iron Man on FCB

On Free Comic Book Day Matt Fraction and artist John Romita Jr. team up to bring you the post-Siege teaming of Thor and Iron Man.

“It’s a little bit of Thor’s backyard and a little bit of Iron Man’s backyard. It’s a chance for the two of them to work together to deal with this threat. We get to see how they bounce off each other.” -Matt Fraction.

After the Free Comic Book Day issue Matt Fraction will be taking over writing on Thor’s monthly series he will also continue to write Invincible Iron Man.

Kirby Heirs Reclaiming Copyrights

Jack Kirby’s four children have served 45 notices of termination to Marvel, Disney, Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures. The notices express intent to regain copyrights, some as early as 2014. Jack Kirby and Stan Lee co-created many of Marvel’s famous heroes including: “Thor”, “Iron Man”, “X-Men”, and “The Fantastic Four”.

The legal notices were filed by Toberoff & Associates, the same Los Angeles law firm that helped win a court ruling for the Siegel heirs, returning a share of the copyright of Superman.

If Kirby’s children regain the copy rights they may be entitled to a share of profits from films or other projects using it. They may also have the right to sell the rights to certain characters independently of Marvel, Disney, or the various studios that have licensed the Marvel properties.
