While going over some old Firefox bookmarks that needed to be filed away, I stumbled across this 3D music video? via Stash Magazine that some of you with co-workers can truly appreciate. Beeple (Mike Winkelmann) created this open source 3D project for Flying Lotus (Steven Ellison) song, Kill Your Co-Workers.
Beeple, is a creative force that as he likes to say “sucks ass”, but after viewing his drawings, 3D work, and photographs that he post up on his website on a daily basis for the last 4 years no less, then you might come to the conclusion that he doesn’t suck ass, as much as he thinks he does. Nonetheless, if you use “Cinema 4D” software, then Beeple has made the 3D files that were used for Kill Your Co-Workers available for you to use in your own personal projects, commercial work, or as he so aptly put it “for whatever the fuck you want”, but just remember to “shout him a holla” if you do.
Flying Lotus is another creative force but his talents lie in music. As the great-nephew of the late Alice & John Coltrane and cousin of Ravi Coltrane, creating music runs through his veins, and whereas Jazz music was part of his uncle & aunt’s repertoire, Flying Lotus creates electronic music that was influenced by his love of Nintendo. You can listen to his latest electronic beat mash up “Camera Day”, of off his latest album Pattern+Grid World after you check out Kill Your Co-Workers below.
