If you frequent nightclubs that play electronic dance music, then surely you’re familiar with Dubstep. For those of you that are not, then here’s your introduction. Dubstep started out in London, UK sometime in the 1990’s with British dance musicians incorporating Sub-bass in their music, and then with DJ’s remixing breakbeat, drum and bass, and Jamaican dub music into their sets.
Since those early days Dubstep has grown in worldwide popularity, with even American musicians and DJ’s increasingly incorporating the Dubstep sound into their music. And in case you’re wondering what the difference is between Dubstep and other forms of electronic dance music such as Techno…well, it’s been noted that Dubstep isn’t as frantic or fast-paced, and the mood & atmosphere that Dubstep creates in the club puts women in “the mood”. I guess it also doesn’t hurt that Dubstep has a lot of Sub-bass in it, which of course when played very loud in the club, can send deep vibrations through a girls body, which is akin to sitting on the back of a Harley motorcycle (so I’ve heard).
High Rankin out of the UK specializes in this genre of music. They have a simple low budget music video for their song; Don’t Carry On Like A Rude Boy When Daddy’s Got A Yacht that I think you might enjoy watching, and I also have posted a link to a Sub-bass video tutorial that High Rankin has made, that will back up my previous statement that Dubstep is very capable of getting your girl in “the mood”, that is of course, you don’t have a Harley in your garage.

Dont want to sound a gonad or anything but u dont even mention 2step garage in this article…
dubstep was originally an offshoot of 2step garage which is itself a british offshoot of chicago house… dubstep is born thru the efforts of artists such as el-b and zbias who integrated darker moods into garage… (chromatic scales and such)… (eg : el-b – express / el-b – buck and bury)…
thus the term step…
the dub in dubstep has to do with the facts that most of those djs were using dubplates to play their new songs .. (most of them still are)… and live by the jamaican soundsystem tradition… thus the term dub..
= dubstep…
the newer dnb oriented dubstep (which i love also)… came a little after..
i dont want to sound hipsterish or knowitall… im just saying… cuz i like when things are described the way they are… actually makes u enjoy music a little more..

@Ldizzy You don’t sound like a gonad for adding to the history of Dubstep. The article was to bring attention to High Rankin and their music video (and Sub-bass tutorial, which i thought was real funny) and not about the historical details of Dubstep, which can be explored further with the likes of a Wikipedia or websites that promote Dubstep.
But thanks for adding to the article since you do seem like a passionate fan of Dubstep, it was highly appreciated.
