The Fighter is the true story of boxer “Irish” Mickey Ward and his brother/trainer Dick Eklund. It chronicles their early days on the rough streets of Lowell, Massachusetts through Eklund’s battle with drugs and Ward’s eventual world championship in London.
The Fighter stars Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, Melissa Leo, Amy Adams, and Jack McGee. It will be in theaters on December 10, 2010.
I don’t care too much about Wahlberg at this point because you know what to expect from him, but I am happy to see Christian Bale out of the Batman suit. Watching the trailer was ho-hum until Christian took over and at that point I was like whoa! this is going to be a good movie. Christian looks like he’s bringing the same intensity that he brought in “The Machinist” so yeah, check out the trailer and tell me if I’m wrong.
