Based on Rosemary Sutcliff’s novel: The Eagle of the Ninth, The Eagle follows Marcus as he sets out to solve the mystery of the disappearance of the entire Ninth Legion, which was led by his father. Accompanied only by his British slave Esca, Marcus sets out across Hadrian’s Wall into the uncharted highlands of Caledonia – to confront its savage tribes, make peace with his father’s memory, and retrieve the lost legion’s golden emblem, the Eagle of the Ninth, thereby restoring his father’s honor.
The Eagle stars Jamie Bell, Channing Tatum, Donald Sutherland, Mark Strong, and Tahar Rahim. It will be in theaters on February 25, 2011.
