Today at the DS23 Expo, Disney announced that Pirates of The Caribbean staring Johnny Depp will be released in theaters the Summer of 2011. The title is Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tide.
Disney also announced a new venture with “Pan’s Labyrinth” director, Guillermo del Toro called “Disney Double Dare You” that will focus on producing spooky animated feature films. The first project “Trollhunters” is based on a del Toro story, that he will also produce.
Dick Cook confirmed that Disney will remake The Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine”. Robert Zemeckis will write and direct the 3D film.
Nicolas Cage showed scenes from “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” a live-action film inspired by Disney’s 1940 animated “Fantasia”.

What!!?
Am I the only person who thought the third was the end- finito- finished? I’m not saying I won’t go see it though.
That sounds pretty exciting about del Toro. Keep us posted please!

They have been talking about doing a forth film for a while now, but this was the first official announcement from Disney. Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley have both said they would not return for the 4th film…but Johnny Deep as Jack Sparrow is what makes Pirates of the Caribbean so great, so as long as he is on board I think it’s going to be good.
