It is official, Catwoman will appear in Christopher Nolan’s last Batman installment: The Dark Knight Rises, and we also know that Anne Hathaway will portray her.
I honestly don’t know how to feel about this news, Selina Kyle is one of my favorite female comic book characters, while I respect and enjoy Anne Hathaway’s work (LOVED when she hosted SNL)… is she really Catwoman material? I don’t see it, but I do have to say how relieved I am that the whole Megan Fox/Catwoman thing isn’t going to happen, that would have been BAD.
The actresses that were actually in the running for the role were Keira Knightley, Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively and Natalie Portman. I picture Selina as being a bit more mature, so I think Naomi 
Watts (she would have to dye her hair dark) would have been a good choice or even Rachel Weisz…but Christoper Nolan is the guy who brought us The Dark Night and Inception, the man knows what he is doing and I have to trust that Anne will do Selina justice.
Nolan said (In the Warner Bros press release) “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.”
Today’s press release also puts to rest the question that has been asked since October when we found out that Tom Hardy was cast in the movie, he will play Bane. Bane isn’t a favorite character of mine, so I don’t have any strong feelings about this news…he was great in Inception and I am sure he will be good as Bane.
The Dark Knight Rises will be released on July 20, 2012.

I like Hathaway, never pictured her for the role. Disappointed Meagan Fox not playing her. Now shes a catwoman Roowwrr!
