Emma Stone has been cast to play Gwen Stacy opposite Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker) in the Spider-Man reboot. Marc Webb will direct the film, which will be released in 3D on July 3, 2012.
I don’t know about you, but it is hard for me to get excited about any Spider-Man movie news. While I am not happy about it, I do understand why Sony is doing a reboot so soon.
Let’s face it Spider-Man 3 wasn’t good (I wish I could delete the dancing from my memory). Maybe Tobey Maguire is getting a little too old to play a believable Peter Parker, and now that Disney owns Marvel, studios need to have projects in development NOW, to avoid loosing their licensing rights. I get it, but that doesn’t mean I am happy about it, or that I will be running to the theater in 2012.
