Captain America Casting News
Marvel Studios has announced that Hayley Atwell has been cast to star as Peggy Carter in “Captain America: The First Avenger”. Hayley has appeared in the films “The Duchess”, “Brideshed Revisited”, and “Cassandra’s Dream”.
In the comics Peggy Carter fell in love with Captain America while they fought together in the war effort. The character is being updated for the film.
Chris Evans will portray Captain America in the film while Sebastian Stan (Gossip Girl) will play his sidekick Bucky.
According to Marvel: “Captain America: The First Avenger” will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America.
The film will be released on July 22, 2011.
