Batman is getting a lot of buzz on the web lately, mostly thanks to our first look at a Dark Knight Rises teaser poster. But Batman Year One the animated movie (watch the trailer) is also causing some buzz. DC Direct seems to be very aware of our Batman excitement and has announced the release of quite a few Batman statues.
We decided to put all these goodies in one nice little post for all you Bat fans out there…
Here is what we know about the Dark Knight Rises so far:
It will be Director, and Writer Christoper Nolan’s last film in the franchise.
It will star: Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy (Bane), Josh Pence (young Ra’s Al Ghul), Anne Hathaway (Catwoman), Marion Cotillard (Miranda Tate), and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (John Blake).
It will be released in Theaters and IMAX in July 2012.
It will be filmed in High Definition rather than in 3D.

Batman Year One DVD: Batman Maquette.
The Maquette is based on the artwork from the Animated DVD (which will be released this fall) and is sculpted by Derek Miller. It stands approximately 9.8″ high x 7.75″ wide x 5″ deep. It will cost $125 and is scheduled to be in stores on September 21st.

Batman Black & White: Batman Statue- By Mike Mignola (Variant)
How awesome does this statue look? It is actually an updated version of Mike Mignola’s 2006 statue. The chest symbol has been changed and the base is now white. The statue is sculpted by Jonathan Matthews. It stands approximately 7.5″ high x 4.75″ wide x 3″ deep. It will cost $95 and is scheduled to be released on February 15, 2012.

Batman (Patina) Mimi Statue
This statue was originally released as a full sized statue, then a blue and grey mini statue was released followed by a mini black and grey version. Now it is being released in Patina and this is such a great statue, that it is almost tempting to by this version as well as the black and grey one that is already in our house.
The statue is based on the artwork of Jim Lee and is sculpted by Tim Bruckner. It stands approximately 6.75″ high x 3.75″ wide x 4.5″ deep. It will cost $95 and is scheduled to be in stores on February 8, 2012.
