Being that it’s HBO and has such a simple title one could easily have their interest peaked but after watching two promotional trailers/clip spots, I found myself slightly underwhelmed.

Don’t mind my opinion though, because this series is going to appeal toward a specific audience, mainly women in their 20’s, trying to make it in New York City or someplace else for that matter.

Girls is created by Lena Dunham (who also plays the main character, Hannah) and is 20-something herself, from New York and is, or was an independent filmmaker that became known for her 2009 indie film “Tiny Furniture” which she wrote, directed, and starred in. The plot of Girls seems similar to “Tiny Furniture” so if you saw the indie film and wanted more of that, then Girls might be your cup of tea.  

Girls, is a ten-episode series written by Lena Dunham executive produced by Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner. The cast also includes Jemima Kirke, Allison Williams, Adam Driver and Zosia Mamet.

Having watched the entire first season and thoroughly enjoying it, I recommend this series as a must watch especially if you know nothing about the novels that the series is based on (much like I did).

Growing up as a child of the 70’s & 80’s and having been influenced by the culture of that era and often imitating Bruce Lee when ‘play fighting’ with friends, I can definitely look back and have an appreciating of how Bruce Lee has influenced and shaped martial arts, movies, and the hearts & minds of kids that grew up idolizing him.

Prometheus stars: Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, Charlize Theron. It will be in theaters on June 08, 2012.

Synopsis: Former stuntman and bounty hunter of rogue demons Johnny Blaze has been living in self-imposed exile, believing that his powers are a curse. But when he is approached by a member of a monastic order who is looking for someone to protect a mother and her son, who are being pursued by the devil in the figure of a man named Roarke, the Ghost Rider takes the case.

Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance stars: Nicolas Cage, Violante Placido, Ciaran Hinds, Idris Elba, and Johnny Whitworth. It will be in theaters on February 17, 2012.

Don’t think I will be heading to the theater for this one either…

G.I Joe Retaliation stars: Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, D.J. Cotrona, and Lee Byeong-heon. It will be in theaters on June 29, 2012.

Rock of Ages stars: Tom Cruise, Mary J. Blige, Russell Brand, Julianne Hough, and Alec Baldwin. It is directed by Adam Shankman. It will be in theaters on June 1, 2012.

Men in Black III will be in theaters on May 25, 2012.

Mirror Mirror stars Julia Roberts, Lily Collins, Armie Hammer, Nathan Lane, Sean Bean. It will be in theaters on March 16, 2012.

The Hunger Games stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Wes Bentley, Toby Jones, Amandla Stenberg, Alexander Ludwig, Isabelle Fuhrman, Jacqueline Emerson, Paula Malcomson, Dayo Okeniyi, Jack Quaid, Leven Rambin, Willow Shields, and Lenny Kravitz. It will be in theaters on March 23, 2011.
