At 8:00 PM tonight Cartoon Network will premiere the anime styled ThunderCats as a one hour movie.

Synopsis: The new “ThunderCats” will appeal to viewers who have loved the characters all their lives as well as young newcomers to the franchise. A sweeping tale combining swords and science and boasting ferocious battles with the highest of stakes, the grand origin story of Prince Lion-O’s ascension to the throne – and of those who would thwart his destiny at any cost – takes on epic dimensions in this sharp new telling. As the forces of good and evil battle each other in the quest for the fabled Stones of Power, Lion-O and his champions learn valuable lessons of loyalty, honor and mortality in every episode.

Later on Tonight at 11:00 PM  G4 will finally show the American premiere of  the Wolverine and Iron Man anime, both shows are 30 minutes.

Iron Man Synopsis: Tony Stark is a physicist, an engineer, and the CEO of a major arms manufacturing company. On a battlefield he is injured from his own weapons and taken prisoner by terrorists. In order to keep his own heart beating, he creates the Iron man Suit and escapes. Once free, Stark decides to dedicate his life to pursuing world peace with the Iron man technology, so he moves to Japan to use the resources of “Lab 23,” home of the world’s first Arc Reactor. Wanting to devote himself fully to this research, Stark decides to retire as Iron man and announce the mass-production of suits to fulfill his duties. But at the announcement ceremony he is attacked by the mysterious organization known as “Zodiac,” and his plans have to change.

Wolverine Synopsis: Wolverine is a mutant, possessing animal-keen senses, enhanced psychical capabilities, three retracting bone claws on each hand and a healing factor that allows him to recover from virtually any wound, disease or toxin at a accelerated rate.

Marvel and G4 will also be premiering  X-Men and Blade anime series, release dates for those are still unknown.

In an explosive new story full of brutal action and primal emotion, a group of young pilots maneuver their towering, cyborg Eva Units into combat against a deadly and disturbing enemy. In the battle to prevent the apocalyptic Third Impact, Shinji and Rei were forced to carry humanity’s hopes on their shoulders. In this thrilling new experience for fans of giant robot action, the young pilots fight desperately to save mankind – and struggle to save themselves.

It was released in Japan in June of 2009, it will be released in the states January 21, 2011.

Who anticipated that being dead was going to be the hot topic of the year? I know I didn’t. When I saw the trailer for The Walking Dead mini-series, I wasn’t thoroughly impressed. It wasn’t the story in itself that was lacking, but perhaps the overall look of the series. Watching zombies roaming around during the day trying to feed doesn’t seem frightening but I’m sure the story is going to be good.

Which takes us to Highschool of the Dead. After watching the trailer to get a feel for the series, I was definitely impressed. There is so much more you could get away with in animation compared to doing it live action. If the zombie apocalypse theme hasn’t worn dry on you or you just prefer it anime style, then be sure to check this one out because you will not be disappointed.
