We’ve been so busy over here at Comi Girl, not so much with work, but this seems to be the year of family.

Not such a bad thing of course, because strengthening family bonds and getting re-acquainted with family you hardly get to see is very important in the grand scheme of things. So as you start seeing post go up in the coming weeks about things you already know of, it’s not that we’ve just come across it, we just haven’t had the time to post up the info on Comi Girl when we originally came across it because we’ve been spending time with, La Familia.

And speaking of getting re-acquainted with family, look who’s back…Voltron! And here I thought it was just gonna be the ThunderCats. What’s next…TMNT?

Lady Gaga has announced a “We Pray For Japan” wristband which costs $5 (buyers can add additional money to their donation) all proceeds will go to the relief efforts in Japan.

Linkin Park has released Japan Relief Butterfly tees designed by Mike Shinoda with proceeds going to  Download to Donate: Tsunami Relief.

Next week Gwen Stefani will release a limited a limited edition Harajuku Lovers T-shirt designed by Gwen they will be available through nodoubt.com with 100% of proceeds benefiting the relief effort in Japan.

Today I also came across Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid Miku Hatsune: Support Version via Danny Choo. She costs 3,000 yen  ($37.00) Good Smile will  donate 1,000 yen ($13.00) of each order to the Japanese Red Cross Society. She will be on sale in Japan today, and should be available through Good Smile Company’s English site on April 8th.

At last year’s San Diego Comic Con it was announced that G4 would be airing four Marvel anime this year: Iron Man (watch the trailer) , Wolverine (see the trailer here), X-Men, and Blade.

While we still do not have a release date for the anime, we do have a new teaser, this time from the X-Men.

I have to admit I only vaguely remember this show. I know my younger brother, sister and I watched it, and I recognize the characters but I don’t remember their names or much of anything (maybe watching an old episode or two would bring it all back). That being said I am still excited about this reboot, I love anime & anything that reminds me of my childhood :)

News like this normally makes me happy, but Death Note is one of my favorite anime, while the Japanese live action films (in my eyes) were not as good, they did do the anime justice.

I am a little skeptical of the American version, we will have to see…maybe if they get  Alessandro Juliani to play L (I think of Death Note EVERY TIME he guest stars on Smallville as Dr. Emil Hamilton :) )

Brief Death Note synopsis for those who haven’t read or seen it: Light Yagami, is a brilliant but bored high school student whose life is changed when he finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami, or god of death, named Ryuk. When Light discovers that any human whose name is written in the book dies, he vows to use its power to rid the world of evil. But every action has its consequences, and Light soon finds himself in a life or death battle of wits with the mysterious genius detective called L. Humanity itself becomes the battleground to determine what form of justice will prevail!

2.Highschool of the Dead was adapted into an anime television series by Madhouse and began airing in Japan on July 5, 2010

3.Highschool of the Dead is set in the present day, beginning as the world is struck by a deadly pandemic that turns humans into zombies. The story follows Takashi Komuro, a Japanese student at Fujimi High School who survived the initial outbreak along with several of his classmates and the school nurse.

4.Highschool of the Dead is for mature audiences and readers. It contains gore, violence, sex, fanservice and of course zombies!

5.The Blu-ray & DVD is set to be released on 9.22.2010
