Blood+
Inspired by the full length anime, Blood: The Last vampire, Blood+ is a different take on the same character. It is produced by Production I.G the studio that brought you, Moribito and Ghost in a Shell S.A.C. The animation is top notch.
The first episode jumps right in and gets you interested. It introduces Saya, an amnesiac teenager, and the blood thirsty Chiropterans. One day after school Saya gets attacked by one of these vicious vampire/bat-like creatures. During the fight she reawakens part of her memory. After a short, but bloody fight, she defeats the creature with the help of Hagi, (Saya’s chevalier). As the series goes on it slows down dramatically. Saya slowly learns about her past, and the story follows Saya’s adopted family as they try to cope with her awaking.
It is a long series so if you have the patience, kudos to you. This series is a lot different than the full length anime. In the anime Saya is a killing machine and already knows about her past. The setting in the series is pretty much the same but the characters are slightly different. If you have the time it’s a pretty good series, although, I wouldn’t recommend it to someone looking for action and adventure.
