Zombies are in full effect this year! Last week, the trailer for AMC’s upcoming television series The Walking Dead trailer was going viral and getting rave reviews from the fans. This week, Highschool of the Dead is giving anime fans a taste of the zombie apocalypse theme and next week, it’s going to be the much anticipated Resident Evil: Afterlife film that was shot in 3-D, with the same camera that was used for Avatar. Whew!

Who anticipated that being dead was going to be the hot topic of the year? I know I didn’t. When I saw the trailer for The Walking Dead mini-series, I wasn’t thoroughly impressed. It wasn’t the story in itself that was lacking, but perhaps the overall look of the series. Watching zombies roaming around during the day trying to feed doesn’t seem frightening but I’m sure the story is going to be good.

Which takes us to Highschool of the Dead. After watching the trailer to get a feel for the series, I was definitely impressed. There is so much more you could get away with in animation compared to doing it live action. If the zombie apocalypse theme hasn’t worn dry on you or you just prefer it anime style, then be sure to check this one out because you will not be disappointed.
